Samuel Ducca
PhD student in Computer Engineering
Universidade de São Paulo
I am a PhD student in Computer Engineering at the University of São Paulo, advised by Prof. Cintia Borges Margi. My research focuses on Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) for environmental sensing, with current work on atmospheric and rainfall sensing using Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
My Master’s research explored low-cost animal and pedestrian crossing detection for roadway safety using Wi-Fi sensing. This research has been recognized through several awards, including Second Prize in the 2024 IEEE Communications Society Communication Technology Changing the World Student Competition, the Best Student Paper Award at IEEE LATINCOM 2023, and the Best Master’s Thesis Award at the 2025 Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC).
